ATAC Breaks Records with $705K in Override Payments Back to Members

The Australian Travel Agents Co-operative (ATAC) has announced a record-breaking $705,000 in override payments returned to its member network in 2025, marking the highest annual rebate in the Co-operative’s history.

An impressive 74% of all override income collected by ATAC was rebated directly to its members, reflecting the strength of its Preferred Partner relationships and the growing success of its performance-based override model.

To highlight the shift, ATAC confirmed that while the top individual override payment in 2024 was $30,000, one standout agency received nearly $60,000 this year.

“This is exactly what the Co-operative model is built for - putting money back into the hands of independent agents,” said Michelle Emerton, CEO of ATAC. “Our tiered override structure combined with super low fees is working. It’s rewarding performance, encouraging deeper support of our Preferred Partners, and ultimately reinvesting into small/medium business.”

ATAC Member, Neil Kirby from Travel Masters is seeing the tangible benefits of ATAC membership firsthand, saying that “Joining ATAC has been one of our best business decisions. The co-operative’s supplier partnerships, shared resources, and considerable annual returns have enhanced our operations and profitability. ATAC empowers our independence while offering strong industry support and collaboration, making it an invaluable partner in our ongoing success as a travel business.”

With the 2025 overrides now finalised, members are able to access their detailed override statements and GST reports. These reports provide valuable insight into their current earnings and highlight opportunities to grow future returns by increasing engagement with Preferred Partners.

The momentum continues with Future Focus 2025, ATAC’s flagship conference taking place this September in Adelaide. The event will be a celebration of members, partners, and the shared success of the Co-operative.
